The Missouri River Pedestrian Bridge Project

Taking Katy to the Capitol

The Missouri River Pedestrian Bridge Project is an initiative to extend the Katy Trail into Jefferson City, Missouri. The bridge, which will be built on the existing Highway 54 bridge, will connect two Missouri institutions, the Katy Trail and the Capitol.

Hikers, bicyclists and runners will be able to easily cross the river on a pedestrian bridge, bringing Katy travelers and their business into the heart of the Capitol city. New access will connect the Trail on the north side of the river to Trailhead Park on the Capitol Grounds, marked by a unique greenway through the city.

This project will benefit not only Katy travelers, but also residents of Jefferson City and surrounding areas. If you would like to join our effort in Taking Katy to the Capitol by donating, please contact the Missouri State Parks Foundation. Your help is greatly appreciated.
